BFG at the ballpark: We say “Thank You” to Our Clients and Friends
Philanthropy Baron TeamBaron Financial Group was delighted to return to Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, FL, for our 9th annual client-appreciation event. On February 20, 2026, the Baltimore Orioles faced the New York Yankees in a Grapefruit League season game — a Florida-based Spring Training league where Major League Baseball teams prepare for the upcoming season. The Orioles came away with a 2–0 victory, and both Yankee and Oriole fans enjoyed beautiful weather, great food, and an exciting afternoon at the ballpark. Baseball fans + the Oriole Bird = a perfect game day!

We are always happy to welcome the Bird to the suite! Game day is always better with the mascot in the mix. Fun facts about the “Oriole Bird” (from the Baltimore Orioles Website):
- Doesn’t have a nickname – goes by Oriole Bird
- "Hatched" out of a giant egg prior to the team's 1979 season opener at Memorial Stadium on April 6.
- It would not be until the early 1990s, when the Orioles began to play at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, for The Bird to have the modern, familiar look.
- Favorite foods are "mostly bird seed, with an occasional crab cake”
